Gilsonite powder supplier for drilling asphalt ink foundry

We are supplier of Gilsonite in powder and raw form (lump) which is brand name of American powdered Gilsonite company and found by Gilson in city of Utah Basin on 150 years ago.It is also called Uintaite , Asphaltite and all are black, lustrous variety of asphalt occurring naturally on a large scale in the Uintah basin of eastern Utah and western Colorado. But same material is available in other countries. Becuase Gilsonite mine available in Turkey so they called BITUMKAYA means bitumen stone and in Indonesia called Batum also It has a molecular weight of about 1500, a softening temperature which varies from 200 to 450 F., depending upon the mine vein from which it is taken, and is composed of about 86% carbon, 11% hydrogen and 3% nitrogen.

powdered Gilsonite using in lost circulation as fluid loss controller

When perforated, it is shatter-resistant.It does not significantly affect the setting time of cement so powdered Gilsonite additive can provide higher strength than heavier additives with high water requirements. The primary use for this unique material is in restoring lost circulation cause the bridging action of the angular the solids at the point of lost returns. Its effectiveness is due to the particle-size distribution. The larger and medium-size particles bridge forming a network which retains the finer particles. cause, a dense deposit is formed which is sealed by the cement. Decreasing the slurry weight by using an extender helps in controlling lost circulation by reducing the hydrostatic pressure. It is using in oil well drilling fluid as FLC to seal the hole shale and cool down the drilling rod to prevent to losing the drilling mud to caves.

Advantage of using as drilling fluid

Provides superior shale stabilization

Prevents differential sticking

Reduces or eliminates lost circulation

Provides wellbore strengthening matrix

Usage of in asphalt

Using so commonly in heavy traffic area like junction or bus station is using because the additive in paving make the surface boundry of combination on special location of roads like bus station or signal points and junction so protect asphalt from deformation. Due curing of pavement is because of cold or high temperature, weight of trucks and cars, sun, rain, snow road construction companies are looking for new technology and material to use to improve crack and deformation and all above problem. Using as road pavement additives in hot mix.

Using in INK

In ink industry working as ink stabilizer and increase hardness of ink with making binding with other chemicals as carbon black and after curing prevent to remove it by water and chemical.

Using in foundry sand

In foundry sector it is makes a great mold that conveys a sleeker finish to the cast parts and is easier to take out.

Packing in recyclable bags

powdered Gilsonite packed in 25Kg or 50lbs multi paper bag on pallet shrinked wrapped on plastic or wooden pallet. On each pallet we can stuff 34 bag and 20 pallet per 20ft container and 28.8MT per 40ft container. There is other way of bag like jumbo bag 1000Kg or 25 and 50Kg polypropylene bag.The craft bag is recyclable and most of oil companies ordering this type.

Physical specification

It is very fragile. It shatters easily. Rolling the material between two drums tends to give the best particle distribution to use as raw material in carbon production.

While we process the material from chunks to powder and then heating the powder where we drive off the high value volatile so we get much less material and then we are able to supply volume quantity to our customer.

Solubility of powdered Gilsonite

Being a hydrocarbon, is somewhat soluble in hydrocarbon solvents. It is more soluble in kerosene and naphtha than also in crude oil. The effect of crude oil on set cement containing is negligible beyond the dissolution of exposed particles. It has a melting point of 385°f. Some softening occurs above 240°f and particles may tend to fuse together. Because of the temperature reduction during circulation, It can use in wells and having a static bottom-hole temperature of 300°f also slightly higher.

Use as an extender

It can be used to lighten the slurry so increase the slurry yield but will still provide a relatively high-strength set cement. Large amounts of water are not required for it and the reduction of slurry density is primarily the result of the low specific gravity of the material.

Mix water requirements

One extra gallon of water is normally used for each 25 lb of Gilsonite. Normally p-eba is required to prevent gravitational separation of a material having such a wide variance in density from the slurry. Because such a small amount of the product is required, it can be blended into the slurry without the use of p-eba.
