Cationic K2 Bitumen is a specialized medium-setting road emulsion that contains 57% bitumen. It is manufactured in strict compliance with the KS 02-769: 1990 standard and is widely used in the construction and repair of pavements, driveways, roads, and highways.
Bituminous-Aggregate Mixtures for Pavement Bases and Surfaces:
Plant Mix (Cold): This method is particularly effective when combined with open-graded aggregate, providing a strong foundation for pavements.
Mixed-in-Place: Ideal for applications with open-graded aggregate, ensuring durability and stability in road construction.
Crack Filler: Cationic Bitumen Emulsion K2 serves as a reliable crack filler, addressing maintenance needs and prolonging the lifespan of paved surfaces.
Maintenance Mix: Offers immediate solutions for road maintenance, ensuring smooth and safe travel for vehicles.
Cationic emulsions, like Bitumen K2, are advantageous as they can be used at ambient temperatures and with aggregates that are not completely dry. They are less hazardous to handle and can be applied in a wider range of conditions, making them a preferred choice in the construction industry.
For optimal results, Emulsion K2 should be applied in dry, frost-free conditions, maintaining temperatures between 5°C and 35°C throughout the film drying period. Proper agitation of the contents before application is essential, and application methods such as brushing with a hand broom, squeegee, or spray equipment (conforming to BS3136 standards) are recommended for uniform distribution and an even film.
Before applying Bitumen Emulsion K2, surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned, free from dust, oil, grease, and other contaminants. In hot weather, dampening the surface with water can aid in better emulsion wetting and curing, ensuring effective adhesion and long-lasting results.
It is available in various packaging options, including bulk IBC tanks, flexi tanks, reconditioned steel drums (200 liters), and new steel drums (200 liters), providing flexibility and convenience in handling and storage.
