Bitumen class 170, produced according to AS 2008 Table 2.2, is designed for standard road sealing and low-traffic asphalt projects. It’s ideal for typical spray sealing and lightly traveled road surfaces.

Difference Between Bitumen Class 170 and 300
They are more likely to be similar and they’re both bitumen, but one’s a bit softer than the other. Class 170 is a bit firmer, while Class 300 is a bit squishier.
Uses of Grade 170 Bitumen
It is handy for building roads, waterproofing stuff, and making things stick together. Bitumen class170 like the glue that holds roads and roofs in place. Packing
It is available in 0.6 mm thickness, 180 kg net weight drums, 95 cm height, and 45 cm diameter (+/- 3 kg operational tolerance).
Handling and storage
Don’t keep bitumen 170 stored in hot places for too long because it can spoil. It’s best to store it at the coolest temperature you can while still being able to use it. Usually, it’s good to keep it between 10°C to 40°C higher than the temperature needed for pumping when you’re using it for regular tasks like mixing and moving it around.
